The weekend is almost here! With back-to-school only a week away, we are sharing some local ways where you can make the most of the last days of summer (we can’t believe it either!). This weekend, you and your family can enjoy family art workshops, live music, cultural celebrations, and a carnival! Have a great Westchester weekend!

Mommy and Me: Animal Kingdom at Westmoreland Sanctuary

Enjoy a special bonding experience with your child at Westmoreland Sanctuary where you and your child can meet a new animal friend. Through this drop-in (with a parent) program, your kids will get to pet animals for 45-minutes. This is followed by 45 minutes of self-directed play. Family Studio Art Workshop: Changing Perspectives

In this family art project, you and your kids can create an agamograph. This is an art form that uses optical illusions to create changes in an image from different angles that moves or has an element of motion. Supplies will be provided and this program if for kids ages five and up.

Learn more about the incredible Walled Garden at the Untermyer Gardens. This stroller-friendly tour will teach your kids about plants, mythology, architecture, sculpture and ruins. Indy Lab Kid’s Concert and Carnival

Enjoy live music with your kids at the Indy Lab Kid’s Concert and Carnival. Hosted by The Tennis Club of Hastings, the event kicks off with a 45-minute concert from Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band bandleader, Matty. It also includes a large carnival filled with bouncy houses and carnival tennis games like “Beat the Pro” and “Pop the Balloon with a Volley!” Food and drinks will also be provided.
