In Westchester, several running clubs are all about showing up, helping fellow members, and ensuring everyone takes time for themselves and stays active. Running Clubs in Westchester

Yonkers Running Project

Yonkers Running Project has gathered a community of Westchester runners for five years. YRP is dedicated to promoting health, embracing diversity, and fostering community engagement through running. They are inclusive and welcome everyone to join them weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm for a 5k and Saturdays at 8:30 am for a long run. All are welcome to join, and no sign-ups are needed.

Westchester Track Club

The Westchester Track Club, founded by Mike Barnow in 1973, is a two-tiered club for elite and recreational runners of all ages and backgrounds. It’s based in Westchester and offers structured weekly workouts on the track and trail for its nationally registered elite track and recreational teams. All are welcome to join.

The Westchester Track Club holds formal team practices on Saturday mornings year-round, weather permitting, on the lower trails of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve and on Wednesday evenings from April through October at either the Sleepy Hollow High School track or on the lower trails of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Additionally, informal distance running sessions take place on Sundays at various locations.

Rivertown Runners

Rivertown Runners organizes community running events to raise money for local charities and add fun to running. They have weekend group runs and Thursday workouts at Sleepy Hollow High School. The group also meets at JP Doyle’s Restaurant to run along the Hudson River. They have post-race tailgates and non-running social events. Membership is open to all, and new members can join the runs anytime.

Croton Running Company

Ellen Brecher (Klahr) has lived in Croton with her family for 27 years. She started running in her 20s, transitioned to triathlons, and later worked at Run on Hudson Valley. She decided to open her running store, Croton Running Company, in Croton. She is passionate about providing the perfect fit for running shoes and supporting small businesses.

The shop has weekly running group meets and invites everyone to join its weekly runs on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm from The Green Growler, Friday mornings at 5:30 am from Matters Coffee, and Saturday mornings (women only) at 9:00 am from different locations each week. They recommend following the CRC Ladies Run on Facebook for more information on the Saturday runs.

MRC Westchester

Mikkeller Running Club is a community passionate about running and quality beer. They come together to engage in runs, savor craft beer, and socialize with like-minded individuals who appreciate an active lifestyle and good brews. Whether passionate about running, beer, or both, the club provides a welcoming and supportive environment.

Run PB

Join Run PB for a 4-6 mile run along the riverfront starting at 6 pm every Wednesday from Peekskill Brewery. Runners and walkers of all paces are welcome. After the run, participants can stick around for a happy hour with discounted beer.

Taconic Road Runners

The Taconic Road Runners is widely recognized as the premier running club in Westchester, providing a welcoming and inclusive community for running enthusiasts of all levels. Taconic Runners are known for organizing various races that cater to various running levels. In addition to regularly hosting runs, they are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for runners to connect, improve, and learn from one another. Leatherman Harriers Sunday Runs

The Leatherman Harriers Sunday Runners Group delivers weekly trail runs in Northern Westchester, New York, and surrounding areas. Most runs occur in the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, with Sunday meetings at 8:00 am. Runs average 5 to 8 miles, and whether you’re a beginner or an expert trail runner, this group is perfect for anyone looking to run with a supportive community.

Briarcliff Manor Running Club

The Briarcliff Manor Running Club aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for runners of all abilities. It is open to residents of the Village and School District and surrounding areas in Westchester County. The club meets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and offers free entry.

NewRo Runners

NewRo Runners is a local running club in Southern Westchester with 900+ runners from various towns. They organize group runs and track sessions on weekends. The club aims to bring together runners of all levels to promote a healthy community and support all runners, regardless of experience. They are members of the Road Runners Club of America and New York Road Runners, a registered non-profit organization whose motto is “Changing the shape of the community—one mile at a time.”
