What to wear to Boundless Adventures

Since you will be literally swinging through trees as well as climbing and moving through different configurations, kids should wear sneakers, pants and/or long shorts, and open-fingered grip gloves. The facility is open during all weather conditions where they advise that it’s best to dress for the weather. No bags or backpacks should be with but they do have lockers on-site for storage.

What to expect when you arrive

Boundless Adventures is specifically for kids ages seven and up. Parents should make an online reservation, especially if you’re visiting on the weekends when they get busy. Participants sign a waiver and then they get can get their gear.

After all the paperwork is done, parents and kids will be “suited up” with proper equipment such as harnesses and zipline hooks. You’ll then go to the safety area to see a demo and have the chance to test out the equipment before you start. At first, playing with the equipment may feel a little awkward as you fumble with the tools, especially if you have never done the experience before. However, the staff is super helpful and will provide guidance on how to use everything where you will feel comfortable and able to do it yourself before you start the course.

The different courses

Courses are broken up into four different levels. Beginners (ages 7-9 years old) start at the yellow level that goes all the way up to the black course intermediate level for ages 14+. In total, they have 11 courses, including 3 yellow, 4 green, 3 blue, and 1 black course. Each adventure is based on height, fitness level, and, of course, what you and your child are comfortable trying. There are staff members located throughout the courses to talk you through any difficulties, but, ultimately, it’s up to you to get yourself to the end of a course.

My daughter (age 10) and I started on the yellow level, going through different rope courses, ladders, and bridges. It was so much cheer each other on as we challenged our strength and balance. One of our favorite parts was the zipline as we happily swung through the trees. The zip line in the yellow course is considered a low-speed zip line, which is perfect for beginners.

After the yellow course, we moved on to the green (intermediate course), which is for ages 10-11 years old. The green course includes longer zip lines, more ladders, and rolling elements. Here, you’ll have to jump from one platform to the next.

Other course include blue (ages 12-13) and the black. The blue course is 22-26-feet high, which offers more challenging ladders, harder rolling elements, and wobbly bridges. The black course is the hardest course at Boundless Adventures with ultra challenging ladders and bridges. This will have you and your teen up at 30-40-feet high, testing your balance, strength, and agility as you tackle obstacles and your stamina.

You can also take your experience to the next level by hiring a guide to be with you and your family along the way. Guides start at $50/hour who can climb with your child. This could be a great option if your child is fearful of heights as well as need emotional and physical support or have a disability.

Boundless also offers a summer camp and an afterschool programs for kids (both for kids ages 8+) as well as an annual membership for super active participants.

No matter what course you choose, you’re bound to have an awesome time with your kids at Boundless Adventures.
