Celebrate the 4th of July and the U.S.A.’s 250th Birthday with various events around Westchester, Rockland County, and Bergen County with community parades, live performances, and spectacular fireworks.

Westchester

Music Fest and Fireworks

See mesmerizing fireworks light up the night sky during the annual Music Fest & Fireworks sponsored by Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and Westchester Parks Foundation. Pre-concert entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with a guest DJ followed by the Naked Soul Band at 7 p.m. Spectacular fireworks, with the historic Kensico Dam as the backdrop, will follow at about 9 p.m. Concert-goers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating and a picnic if desired. Visit the Kids Zone from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Featuring DJ, Kids Inflatables and Concessions.

 

Mekeel’s Corners Chapel Independence Day Celebration

In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Mekeel’s Corners Chapel will offer an Independence Day Celebration for the community. The program will include musicians leading attendees in the singing of patriotic songs and hymns. There will also be a reading of select passages from the United States’ most important founding documents.

 

Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase

Join local historian Duane Jackson for a Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase. Costumed presenters will portray soldiers from the 1st Rhode Island Regiment and 2nd New York Regiment, highlighting pivotal Revolutionary War battles, including the role of pioneering Black soldiers. Village Historian Marc Cheshire will give brief remarks on the military service of Pierre and Philip Van Cortlandt before the re-enactment begins. The event will feature a musket firing demonstration and conclude with an audience Q&A.

 

Village of Mamaroneck Independence Day Celebration

The Village of Mamaroneck’s annual Independence Day celebrations feature family-friendly festivities, the Fire Department Carnival, live music, and culminate with a stunning fireworks display over the Long Island Sound. 

 

Celebrate Independence Concert

The Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra is returning to this historic site and Conductor Russell Ger will be bringing his explosive artistic energy with a line-up of music inspired by fireworks and jubilation. Please bring your own lawn chairs and feel free to pack a picnic to enjoy the evening’s festivities.
