RYE NATURE CENTER

This Rye City-owned facility offers environmental programs on 47 acres of wildlife preserve. There are more than two miles of hiking trails, ponds, and streams. Be sure allow time for kids to explore Nature’s Playground. This outdoor playground, enhanced with natural elements, is ideal for young nature enthusiasts. The Center offers weekly classes, public events, school programs, and camps. It’s also a place for kids birthday parties!

TEATOWN LAKE RESERVATION

This 1,000-acre nature preserve and education center offers environmental education and conservation activities for all ages. There are 15 miles of hiking trails, a nature center, animal exhibits, working maple sugar house, Teatown Lake and a 2-acre sanctuary with 230 native and endangered species of wildflowers. Weekends offer special programs for families.

STAMFORD MUSEUM & NATURE CENTER

This year the Stamford Museum & Nature Center celebrates 80 years of art, education, and natural wonder. The Museum houses changing family-friendly exhibits, the art center offers classes and Heckscher Farm features farm animals. There’s also an outdoor Nature’s Playground and some 80 acres of nature trails to explore. Weekend family programs offered.

AUDUBON GREENWICH

This 285-acre sanctuary offers miles of trails for families to explore as well as a wide range of activities and events, including bird watching, guided hikes, nature programs and outdoor festivals for all ages. The Kimberlin Center houses a small hands-on nature museum and a large picture window for indoor bird watching.
