Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th
Volunteer New Rochelle

Families are invited to participate with Volunteer New Rochelle in a weekend of beautification projects. This includes trash removal, trail maintenance, beautification projects, and more in 13 community parks across New Rochelle.  

Established in 2016, Volunteer New Rochelle aims enhance the beauty of the parks. It represents just one of the many ways Volunteer New York! and the City of New Rochelle work together to connect residents with meaningful volunteer opportunities. Farm Days at Sugar Hill Farm

Support Westchester’s Sugar Hill Farm by giving back. They are looking for volunteers to plant seedlings in the spring. Additionally, they need help with weeding, tending, and harvesting crops in the summer and the fall. However, no farming or garden experience is needed. 403 Harris Road, Bedford Hills, NY 10507.

D.I.G Farms

D.I.G Farms has volunteer days on Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday. Here, families can participate in all garden activities. This includes planting, harvesting, and maintaining garden beds.

2024 Youth Lobby Day

Teens and young adults ages 14 to 22 years old are invited to participate in the 2024 Youth Lobby Day in support of Planned Parenthood. This starts at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic’s Elmsford office with a bus ride to Albany. Additionally, all youth participants must have a submit a signed permission slip.

Join Westchester Parks Foundation and the Westchester County Parks Department for Pitch In For Parks. Held every April, this is the largest County-wide volunteer program surrounding Earth Day. Volunteers programs are held throughout at the County. Firstly, this includes volunteering at Silver Lake Preserve to clean the park for spring. Additionally, families can mulch the playground and planting flowers at Tibbetts Brook Park; clean up garbage and litter at Bronx River Reservation; and much more!

Additional volunteer opportunities include managing invasive species, helping maintenance on native planting sites, clearing debris, weeding, vine management, and more. However, no experience is necessary. Finally, volunteers can come anytime between 10am-2pm.

Family Service Society of Yonkers

This location organization is looking for volunteer mentors to help elementary-aged children with their reading skills. Volunteers must be 16 years old and up. Additionally, they must be able to volunteer on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm.

Fun for Cure Adaptive Tennis

Fun for Cure is seeking volunteers to help kids with special and/or medical needs. This includes a range of times, starting on April 7th-June 9th. Additionally, volunteers help by motivating kids, as well as assisting the leader. No tennis experience is required.

Heartsong

Heartsong, a program that provides art, dance movement, and music therapy for individuals with disabilities, is looking for volunteers. They are seeking volunteers (15 and up) for their Saturday program. Thus, this includes helping with social skills, language, self-esteem, fine motor skills, and more.

Starter Kit for Babies

Sharing Shelf is seeking volunteers to help assemble layette kits for babies. This kits will be given to new parents in need. Thus, this is a fanatic opportunity for families, friends, community groups, and co-workers. Finally, volunteers should be at leas 13 years old.
