Paddington Returns to the Big Screen at JBFC This February!

Everyone’s favorite marmalade-loving bear is back for another heartwarming adventure. Paddington in Peru is coming to the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) starting February 14, and tickets are now on sale.
In this latest chapter, Paddington sets off on a trip to Peru with the Brown family to visit his dear Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears. What begins as a joyful reunion soon turns into an unexpected adventure, leading Paddington and his family deep into the Amazon rainforest and high into the breathtaking peaks of Peru. Featuring the voice of Ben Whishaw as Paddington, the film also stars Emily Mortimer, Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas. Critics have embraced the film, with Little White Lies calling it “another heartening plea for human empathy” and Deadline declaring, “The story of the little bear welcomed by strangers remains magical.”
Fun Surprises Await Opening Weekend at the JBFC

To celebrate Paddington in Peru, JBFC is offering a weekend full of themed activities. On Saturday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 16, Paddington himself (in costume) will be in Pleasantville to greet guests and pose for photos before the first two screenings of the day. Families can also enjoy activity sheets and temporary tattoos while supplies last. Raffles will take place at select screenings, with prizes including Paddington Bear dolls, authentic English marmalade from The Hamlet in Mt. Kisco, Paddington books from The Village Bookstore, and free popcorn and soda coupons.

As a special treat, guests who bring their own Paddington bear to concessions will receive a free small popcorn. JBFC is also offering kid-friendly combo packs with popcorn, candy, and chocolate milk, available for purchase.

JBFC is proud to offer sensory-friendly screenings to ensure an inclusive experience for all families. These screenings feature dimmed lights, lower volume, and a relaxed atmosphere where audience members are free to move around and express themselves. The first sensory-friendly screening is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, at 11:20 AM, with more screenings to be added soon.

For an extended outing, guests can visit Take 3 Wine Bar & Café on the third floor to enjoy a bite, sip on a drink, and relax in style. Whether grabbing a snack with the family or unwinding with a glass of wine, Take 3 offers a welcoming space to complement a trip to JBFC. The café is open Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

At just over an hour and a half, Paddington in Peru is the perfect family-friendly outing. Tickets are now available at www.burnsfilmcenter.org/booking/paddington-in-peru/ranging from $9–$16.
