How to Celebrate Read Across America Day

Happy Read Across America Day, or Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, as it commonly called. This day marks the celebrating the joy of learning and reading.

Every month, Read Across America is featuring a new book/theme that explores a topic related to diversity and inclusion. ‘Bring Communities Together’ is the theme for March with a reading of “Dream Street” by Tricia Elam Walker. Pick up this book (or any other book) at your local library or bookstore to help your kids celebrate diverse stories, encourage a love of reading, and learn new ideas.

April is ‘Make Music’; May is ‘Nuture Family Bonds,’ June is ‘Support LGBTQ+ Communities,’ and July is ‘Cultivate Caring Connections.’
