In Westchester, there are several community and non-profit organizations where your tween/teen can learn new skills, enhance their resume, give back to the community, and meet new friends. Girls Inc, Westchester

A non-profit organization, participants of Girls Inc, Westchester learn how to become independent and educated adults while also developing skills to navigate gender and economic barriers. With a mission to empower girls to be “Strong, Smart & Bold,” girls ages 9 to 18 work with their peers through group and leadership activities. This program is typically offered in schools throughout Westchester but they also have an open membership cycle from June – July where you can learn more. Various dates and times.

Girls Do Series

A part of the STEM Alliance, the Girls Do Series offers STEM learning for girls in grades 4-6. Through the program, girls learn to solve challenges with their peers, learn more about engineering, and participate in team projects. Additionally, they offer a robotics class for rising 1st-3rd grade and rising 4th – 6th graders. Here, they learn coding, engineering and robotics concepts, solve challenges, learn to work in teams, and more. Various dates and times. National Charity League of Northern Westchester

This organization is designed for both mothers and their daughters to work together and participate in community service and volunteer options throughout Westchester County. In the past, this has included volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, Community Center of Northern Westchester, Giving Tuesday, Lewisboro Playground Project, My Brother Vinny, Neighbor’s Link, Operation Gratitude, and much more. G.O.O.D. for Girls, Inc

This organization focuses on one-on-one and group mentoring to help girls become future leaders and confident, young women. Designed for girls ages 9-18 years old, the program teaches girls essential skills. Additionally, it exposes them to STEAM, financial literacy, leadership, college and career programs. Applications are open throughout the year.

ShareLove.Fund

Located in Rye, ShareLove.Fund is a non-profit focused on youth empowerment for women. This includes a yoga teacher training program for women ages 14-24 years old. The program is designed to improve participants physical and mental health, provide vocational yoga degrees, and job placement. Their focus and programming is for teenagers and incarcerated women.
