Fall Skillet Granola Recipe

Prepare this granola to have on hand and you’ll always have something quick, fun and delicious to offer your budding scholars. This back-to-school breakfast essential was provided courtesy of Whole Foods Market.

Serves 6-8

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup raw pecans

1/4 cup unhulled brown sesame seeds

1/4 cup maple syrup

3/4 cup dried fruits (dried cherries, cranberries and currants, or other favorites)

Directions

1. Melt butter in a large skillet.

2. Add the spices and cook for one minute.

3. Add the oats, pecans and sesame seeds to the skillet and cook for three minutes.

4. Add the maple syrup and dried fruits and cook another three minutes.

5. Eat warm, or spread out on a pan and cool. Store in an air-tight container.
