The Capitol Theatre

This iconic music venue was opened in 1926 as a movie playhouse that was renovated to a performance venue in the 1960s.  Iconic performers like Janis Joplin and The Grateful Dead played here during that time. However, it was shut down in the 1970s due to a village ordinance and basically started to decay until the 1980s where it became a theater venue and even a catering hall. It wasn’t until 2012 that The Capitol Theater reopened as the venue it is known for today in Westchester. Here, you can seen premiere concerts, including kids’ concerts featuring rock and roll playhouse. This new studio and experimental exhibition space offers an artistic hub and community for artists of all mediums.
