Christmas Tree Farms In and Around Westchester
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The big kick-off to the season starts by decorating your Christmas Tree. In Westchester -and the surrounding- area, you’ll find many farms where you can cut-your-own tree or find a pre-cut tree. Many of these farms also have gift shops and sweet shops–as well as have visits from Santa–to make it a full holiday experience. So, bundle up and hit the road to find your very own special tree this season.
Battenfeld Christmas Tree Farm (Red Hook)
Take a mini road trip with your family to cut your own tree at Battenfeld Christmas Tree Farm. They offer six tree species in a variety of sizes. This includes Douglas Fir, White Pine, Spruce, Balsam Fir, Concolor Fir, and Frazier Fir. They also sell beautiful wreaths and host visits from Santa in the Bailing Barn, along with ornaments and holiday decorations. Cockburn Farm (Garrison)
Families can cut their own tree everyday from 9:00am-5:00pm at Cockburn Farm. The season runs from November 29th-December, 24th where you can get three species of trees in a variety of sizes such as Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, and Concolor Fir. They also have hand saws for cutting and offer trees three-feet and up. Stop by their farm store for handmade wreaths, seasonal food, and decorative items. Santa also makes an appearance on November 25th-November 27th and December 3rd-December 4th; December 10th-December 11th; and December 17th-December 18th. Connecticut Audubon Society (Westport, CT)
The Connecticut Audubon Society offers pre-cut Fraser Fir, Caanan Fir, and Balsam Fir trees as well Douglas Fir, White Spruce, and Blue Spruce that you can cut. Trees are available for purchase the Saturday after Thanksgiving until December 23rd. Enjoy the sights (and smells) from this 12-acre tree plantation, which offers easy access and a flat terrain. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Connecticut Audubon Society and their educational programming. Stop by the gift shop for wreaths, roping, swags, tree stands, firewood bundles, and decorations. Emmerich Tree Farm (Warwick)
Reservations are now open for this popular choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm. Discover over 12 varieties of spruce, pine, and fir trees, starting on November 25th. After you pick and cut your tree, the team at Emmerich does the rest such as trimming, shaking, baleing, and helping you to get it on your car. You can also find ornaments and gifts such as handcrafted Adirondack reindeer and snowmen, locally-made chocolates, assorted bells, hand-crafted ornaments, and more. They also offer wreath-making classes where you can learn how to decorate and personalize your own wreath for the season. Stuart’s Fruit Farm (Somers)
Get a pre-cut tree, or cut your own at Stuart’s Fruit Farm. They are open the weekend after Thanksgiving-December 24th for cut-your-own and Wednesday-Sunday from 10:00am-6:00pm for pre-cut trees. Cut your Christmas tree starting on November 26th from 10:00am-4:00pm. They have Douglas and Fraser Fir trees for choice-and-cut and some pre-cut Fraser Fir trees. After you pick or cut your tree, stop by their gift shop for ornaments or bake shop for apple cider donuts, pies, and cookies. They offer a free cup of hot apple cider with every tree purchase. The season at Solvang kicks off on Friday, November 25th where you and your family can cut your own Christmas tree.
