This year celebrate Chinese New Year in Westchester at these fun events. Celebrating the festivities and holidays of your culture, or other cultures can expand your children’s world.

 Lunar New Year Celebration
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with performances and hands-on activities. After that, enjoy a full afternoon of art, dance, and music. Chinese New Year in Westchester gets a big boost when 100 Red Envelopes are given to the first 100 children. In addition, costumes are available for children at that time. Doors open at 1:30 on Feb. 1 and then the celebration continues until 4 pm. This event is free to the public but registration is required.

Lunar New Year Festival
Celebrate Chinese New Year in Westchester with Asian arts & crafts, demonstrations, and delicious food. Begin the afternoon with a Lion Dance performance. After that, follow that with workshops and presentations on zodiac animals. Then try calligraphy, t’ai chi, and origami. In addition, families can enjoy fresh-cooked Korean cuisine. Dine while listening to a Chinese dulcimer concert. Then participate in a Chinese Folk Dance. The event runs from noon to 5 pm on Feb. 9. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for children. Reservations are not required.

2020 Westchester Chinese New Year Festival
This Chinese New Year celebration features Chinese cuisine presentations and food sampling. The food is provided by local Asian restaurants. In addition, there’s an art gallery showcasing artworks. Then enjoy calligraphy, Chinese paintings, and handcraft demonstrations. The event is held on Feb. 8 from 2 to 6 pm. Admission is $15 to $20. Reservations are required.

Lunar New Year Celebration
Celebrate Chinese New Year just outside Westchester.  Celebrate the Year of the Rat with Zoo friends. Families can hear special stories then enjoy crafts. In addition, there is a children’s parade and other fun activities. The celebration takes place on Feb 8 (snow date is February 15). The event runs from noon-3 pm. Admission is $16 for adults and $13 for children ages 11 and under. Reservations are not required.
