Best Places for Blueberry Picking Near Westchester

It’s blueberry picking season! This short season (typically early July-August) is happening now where you and your family can enjoy this healthy, seasonal fruit at many local farms. Make sure to reserve your spots as these farms fill up quickly! Happy blueberry picking.

Halfway Acres

Visit this organic farm for the day or the season. Blueberry picking started on June 24th where you and your family can pick from Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday and Sunday. Reservations per car are required for the day and/or season. 200 Purgatory Road, Campbell Hall, NY 10916

Greig Farm

Located in Red Hook, NY, families can pick seven days a week during the current blueberry picking season. Pay what you pick, starting at $7 per pound. While you’re there, you and your family can also feed the goats and visit their farm store. 227 Pitcher Lane, Red Hook, NY 12571

Fishkill Farm

Fishkill Farm offers reservations for their blueberry picking. Simply visit their online portal to reserve your slot for 1-5 at least 2-3 days in advance. Slots are open from 10:00am-3:00pm and include two pints of organic blueberries. $24 per group and kids under two are not counted. While you’re there be sure to visit their farm store for locally-produced meats, farm-fresh fruits and veggies, coffee, tea, and much more.  9 Fishkill Farm Road, Hopewell JCT, NY 12533.

Jones Farm

Take a trip to Connecticut to pick blueberries at Jones Farm. They have three farms (Homestead Farm, Pumpkinseed Hill Farm, and Valley Farm) where their crop growth varies. This season, blueberries can be found at Pumpkinseed Hill Farm and reservations are required. Families can opt for a small basket at $18.50 or a large box at $52. They also have a kids’ pint for $4.50 so little hands can pick and hold their baskets. The farm also offers a Berry Ferry ride to get to the fields. 120 Beardsley Road, Shelton, CT 06484.

Kelder’s Farm

Blueberry picking takes place for around three weeks in July at Kelder’s Farm. Throughout the summer, families can also enjoy a plethora of farm attractions  such as jumping pillow, petting farm animals, and mini-golf as well as food and drinks. Lyman Orchards

Located in Middlefield, CT, you and your family can get blueberries for around six weeks this season (early July-mid August). Pick-your-own is open from 8:00am-4:30pm where you simply have to pay for your container after you pick. Options include 1 Pint, 1 Quart, 4 Quart, and Tray for berries. ½ peck, 1 Peck, and ½ Bushel. 105 South Street, Middlefield, CT 06455.

March Farm

Mead Orchards

Blueberry picking season kicks off on July 7th from Friday-Sunday. The blueberries at Mead Orchards are spray-free. While you’re there, you can also stroll among its 100 plus beautiful acres and shop for farm-fresh items at the farmers’ market. Mead Orchards, 15 Scism Rd, Tivoli, NY 12583

Silverman’s Farm

This farm offers pick-your-own blueberries from 9:00am-4:30pm. After you pick, enjoy access to their animal farm where you and your family will find buffalo, llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats, fallow deer, emus, and long-horn cattle as well as special events throughout the summer.
