Rockefeller State Park Preserve

This park offers many amenities for families, including an even path along Swan Lake as well as through its forested hills. The location is also home to the fern garden, an art gallery, Rockwood Hall (the former home of John D. Rockefeller), and more. 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, NY 10570.

Muscoot Farm

We love this farm where you and your kids can enjoy direct access to farm animals, a weekly Farmers Market, community programming, and a sprawling picnic area. Additionally, find nearby hikes for a walk after your picnic. 51 Route 100, Katonah, NY 10536

Croton Gorge Park

Sawmill Picnic Area

Glen Island Park

This location is home to a beach as well as a picnic area where you can make group reservations. Parking is $5 with a park pass; or $10 without. Weyman Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10805.

Liberty Park

Wampus Pond Park

Once part of the New York City water supply, Wampus Pond Park is now a location where you can enjoy row boating, walking, and picnics. Dogs are allowed at the park but not in the picnic area. Route 128, Armonk, NY 10504.

Kingsland Point Park

Located at the mouth of the Pocantico River, this beautiful park was one of the first parks created by the Westchester County Parks Commission. In addition to its many picnic areas, families can enjoy walking along paved paths with views of several  overlook areas and the historic Tarrytown Lighthouse. Croton Point Park

Located on the Hudson, this park offers stunning views and several picnic areas. The park also has facilities for camping, boating, kayaking, hiking with easy-to-moderate trails, and access for swimming (separate fees) as well as a new cricket pitch area. Gedney Park

This park is perfect for parents of small kids where you’ll find a playground and nearby pond to view turtles and fish as well as take a stroll around it. The park also has several trails and picnic areas/benches. 155 Millwood Rd, Chappaqua, NY 10514.

Pierson Park

A beautiful park on the water, families can enjoy its playground (with sprinklers!) as well as a boardwalk and shaded picnic areas. 238 W Main St, Tarrytown, NY 10591.

Ridge Road Park

This park has large playground with picnic areas and shaded areas as well as hiking trails. For sports, kids of all abilities will enjoy playing on the Miracle Field, a custom-designed field with a cushioned, rubberized turf as well as provides wheelchair-accessible dugouts and a completely flat, barrier-free surface.  287 Ridge Rd, Hartsdale, NY 10530.

V.E Macy Park

This park offers access to ballfields, the South County Trailway. a playground, a picnic pavilion, and the Woodlands Lake where you can enjoy fishing and ice skating. Saw Mill River Rd, Ardsley, NY 10502

Saxon Woods Park

County residents can enjoy access to their swimming pool and aquatic playground, 18-hole and mini-golf, playground, hiking trails, and picnic areas. 1800 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.

D’Onofrio Park

Families can enjoy access to this 22-acre facility with ball fields, a playground, and picnic pavilion. Emmett Terrace, New Rochelle, NY 10805.

Charles Point Park

This park offers pathways for walking along the Hudson River as well as a playground, benches, and picnic areas. 1 John Walsh Blvd, Peekskill, NY 10566.

Bronx River Parkway Reservation

As Westchester’s oldest park, the Bronx River Parkway was the first linear park in Westchester that extends 13.2 miles. Facilities include ponds, wooden footbridges, paths for bicycling and walking, and picnic areas. Dogs are allowed at the park but not in the picnic area. Yonkers to Valhalla.
