Exploring the Armonk Art Fair
Calling all art enthusiasts! Westchester has the ultimate art event that you and kids can enjoy next week at the Armonk Art Show. Celebrating its 60th year, the show is held on October 1st and 2nd with proceeds benefiting the Friends of the North Castle Public Library, Inc. and their incredible range of educational and entertainment programming, including the The Armonk Players theater group and more.
The two-day event is also the ultimate place to check out, explore, and buy new art. This includes over 140 artists from all over the world who will showcase their pieces. This includes fine crafts, mixed media, painting, printmaking, photography, digital art, pastels, drawing, wearable art, and much more.
In addition seeing and experiencing the art, guests can meet and interact with artists where you can ask them questions about their pieces and connect. There will also be an area where local Byram Hills High School students will showcase their student artwork.
Visit the family activities tent to participate in free, interactive arts and crafts projects and art lessons during both days. This includes clay workshops, painting lessons, puppet making, musical performances, a coloring project, play-doh art demo, a cartooning workshop, and much more. Food and drinks will also be available at the Armonk Art Fair from local vendors such as beer from Captain Lawrence, salads and sandwiches from DeCicco & Sons, ice cream from Penny Licks, pizza from Fortina, and more!
This year, the event will have a special exhibit called “Art of Storytelling.” Participating artists were instructed to use a book as their medium to create a piece of art to highlight the work Friends of North Castle Public Library, Inc. The “Art of Storytelling” pieces will be revealed on September 29th and auctioned off that evening. There will be a tent at the Armonk Art Show where guests can see these works of art before they are picked up.
