2023 Lyndhurst Flower Show
One of our favorite parts of spring is all of the fairs and outdoor festivals, like the Lyndhurst Flower Show.
Taking place on April 15th and April 16th at the historic Lyndhurst Mansion, the Flower Show features 17 floral designers on three floors of the mansion. This includes contemporary artists showcasing their art in flowers, botanicals, brass, folded paper, and other materials, to create an immersive floral experience.
The event also features 13 vendors in the carriage house market featuring floral and garden offerings from local artisans, florists, and boutiques. Some vendors include Homegrown Kitchen Garden Nurseries, Longmore Native Plants, Ned Kelly and Company Orchids, Chūko News, Furbelow & Bibelot, Atlock Farm: Ken Selody, Rock Garden Society: Hudson Valley Chapter, and more.
Additionally, families can enjoy landscape tours and workshops. Some workshops include Mini Terrariums, Carnivorous Plant Mini Garden, Japanese Moss Balls (Kokedama), Walk + Tour with NYS Arborist Justin Rawson, Dried Flower Play, and more.
The Lyndhurst Flower Show is centered around large, experiential installations in the many rooms of Lyndhurst mansion created by floral designers from Westchester County, New York City, and the Hudson Valley. The installations fuse a mix of old and new designs, including elaborate floral crowns designed by artist Joshua Werber placed on mannequins wearing 1920s flapper dresses belonging to Lyndhurst’s last owner, Anna Gould, Duchess of Talleyrand and recently acquired from a Paris auction. Contemporary artist becca van k will exhibit 1950s folding lawn chairs reworked with macramé and faux fur placed side-by-side with Lyndhurst’s own 19th century cast iron garden furniture.
