Spring means the arrival of baby animals and plenty of outdoor nature fun. Kids are known to adore both so check out these venues for wonderful spring fun!
Muscoot Farm
Every weekend Muscoot offers family programming. On May 11 it’s a Fairy House Workshop where kids ages 4 and up build a fairy house to help bring fairies to their yard. 1¬-3 pm. $15. Pre-registration required.
On May 26 it’s Meet the Babies Day a day set aside to meet all the baby animals on the farm. 1-3 pm, FREE, reservations not required. Muscoot is open every day and admission is free. Only some programs have a fee. It’s a jewel in Westchester – visit often. And stop by their Farmers’ Market to bring home some delicious fruits, veggies and more!

Teatown Lake Reservation
Attend Animal Adventures: Egg-citing Eggs! to discover why different species lay eggs and match up the egg layers to their young. May 5 from 11am-noon. $8. Pre-registration required.

Greenburgh Nature Center
If it rains here’s an indoor choice. Feeding Fun on May 19 is mealtime for the Nature Center’s animals! Come see what’s on the menu and learn how they keep their critters healthy. 1-2pm. $8. Reservations not required. If the weather is nice visit the Nature’s Playground on-site – it’s a great playground!

Insect Command Post
Get up-close and personal with insects and other critters that creep, crawl and cruise around the Hudson River Valley in springtime. It’s A Spring Insect Day event on May 4, 10am-2pm. New York Botanical Garden
Explore the spring crops (and lots of lettuce!) growing in the garden, mix and make your own take-home packet of salad dressing and make a plant-parts salad art collage with the Garden’s Dig! Plant! Grow! Salad Days program. Starting May 14 every Tuesday – Friday, 1:30-5:30pm, Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-5:30pm, through June 21. Included in All-Garden Pass.
