Trick or Treat for UNICEF

Halloween is the season when children dress up as scary ghosts or pretty princesses and enjoy collecting candy. While many children are lucky to have the luxury for such things, some children are not so blessed.

Consider having your children participate in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program so they can help provide these children in need with more than just Halloween candy.

The program, which began in 1950, originally encouraged school children to decorate small milk cartons and carry them door-to-door as they went trick-or-treating. To date, the program has raised more than $175 million for children in need around the world providing them with immunizations, nutrition, clean water, protection and emergency relief.

For parents, this is a perfect way for your kids of all ages to get involved in community service. The beauty of the program is its simplicity. Funds can easily be collected on Halloween while out trick-or-treating, where children often exclaim the phrase “Trick-orTreat for UNICEF!” Spare change can also be collected at other Halloween events or anytime during the year. Simply order your orange Trick-or-Treat UNICEF boxes and collect small funds whenever possible, it will go a long way to help children in need.

If you are part of a club, group, or church, you can pre-order boxes in large amounts so that everyone in the program can participate. UNICEF also delivers boxes to schools, colleges, universities and companies who want to get involved in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign.

To get involved, as an individual or a group, go to unicefusa.org/trick-or-treat or call 800-367-5437 to order your Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes and start making a difference.
