A remarkable kitchen stadium sets the tone for Friday evening’sSOWE 2014 Best Chef Battle. A true culinary experience, celebrity chefs enter into an epicurean battle for the opportunity to be selected the best chef of SOWE 2014. In this Iron-Chef style performance, celebrity chefs, local chefs and students, are divided into teams and compete in a timed culinary competition. Each chef will guide their teams as they are given secret ingredients which they will incorporate into an entrée and dessert. Strategy, delegation of tasks and efficient communication are all crucial for the win. The team that whips up the best dishes will win the title of Best SOWE Chef. Judging is based on presentation, teamwork, and taste.
The 2014 SOWE Best Chef Battle features Rocco Dispirito, Graham Elliot, Franklin Becker & Dave DiBari. Graham Elliot, a critically acclaimed chef, restaurateur and television personality, is one of the most recognized faces cooking in America today. Rocco Dispirito is the best-selling author of the “The Pound A Day Diet & “Now Eat This!” series, and host of Ion syndicated series “Now Eat This! w/ Rocco DiSpirito”. Franklin Becker is a regular on television, appearing on shows such as Top Chef Masters, Iron Chef America, The Today Show, Dr. Oz, and more. Dave DiBari has made numerous appearances on local television, at charity events and at in-house demonstrations. The Scotto Family (Marion, Anthony, Jr., Rosanna, & Elaina) will be hosting and judging the SOWE 2014 Best Chef Battle, providing insight and the secrets from Fresco Restaurant.
Attendees will help choose the best creations, plus enjoy tastings of great wine, beer and spirits, and a feast inspired by the culinary creations of participating chefs and top notch restaurants, including BLT. A cocktail reception featuring live entertainment, a selection of wines, spirits, and culinary delights will be served after the kitchen stadium performance is complete.
