CJEG holds classes Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 September through May. A wealth of Jewish traditions, history, music, art and holiday celebrations are shared by classmates as they discover the richness and uniqueness of the Jewish heritage. Additional classes are available for students who wish to prepare for bar or bat mitzvah.

Founder, director and spiritual leader of the Hebrew Wizards School and the Wizards Congregation, Deborah Tarasow Salomon, introduces “brand new faces with fresh new style” at her unique Hebrew school where the emphasis is on making learning fun and interactive. The new faces include Cantor Shira Adler, Jon Cobert, a.k.a. Music Man, a composer, pianist and vocalist as well as Josh Nelson, resident artist, performer and producer. And that’s not all. There are brand new classes and she has even introduced the first of what will become 40 learning boards for the new “Wanna Be A Wizard?” App, a learning tool available at the App Store designed for all ages from kids to adult.

Jewish educators from around the country offer courses at Jewish Community Centers and synagogues in the area. Teens have a variety of classes to choose from that range from advanced Hebrew to Jewish comedy. Synagogue membership is not a requirement to participate — only an interest in learning about the Judaism with other Jewish teens.

Kehillah (which means community) is, like Temple Israel’s current programs, open to children of all faiths and ethnicities.
