Cross County Fireworks.
Summer Fest 14 is a summer-long festival of free family activities, and features an Independence Day Celebration for the whole family. There’s a live performance from the NYC Swing Band, strolling entertainers, face painting and a fireworks display that can be seen from anywhere in the mall. 6-9:30pm July 3. Declaration of Independence.
Children are invited to this historic site to sign a replica of the Declaration of Independence. Celebrate Independence Day by seeing where Thomas Paine lived and learning a little colonial history. Visitors are invited to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the lovely grounds. 10am-5pm July 5. For all ages. $5 adults, $3 children.  Reservations not required. Thomas Paine Cottage,

Fourth of July Hike.
This Independence Day-themed hike is actually on July 5, but participants are still celebrating our nation’s birth by discovering animals and plants found in the USA! Come enjoy the natural environment that makes our nation great. Good shoes and plenty of water are a must.10-11:30am (approximately) July 5. For all ages. $4 per person. Reservations not required. Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks. Celebrate the summer holiday with patriotic music, family-friendly entertainment and spectacular fireworks. Car pooling strongly recommended. 5-9:30pm July 3. Free admission and parking. Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla. 328-1542. westchestergov.com.


Pops, Patriots and Fireworks. It’s a patriotic evening of music, picnics on the lawn and fireworks this Independence Day. A performance by Westchester’s Symphonic Winds, a 60-piece wind and percussion ensemble, is followed by fireworks for an explosive evening of Fourth of July fun. 8-10pm July 4.
