History Lesson

Physical Activity

Walkway Over the Hudson is a 1.28-mile long walk on an old railway bridge in Poughkeepsie offers great views and a sense of adventure. walkway.org.

Bicycle Sundays is a time when a portion of The Bronx River Parkway is closed to motorists and free and open to cyclists, skaters, scooters, walkers, joggers and strollers. Course begins at Westchester County Center, White Plains and runs south to Scarsdale Rd., Yonkers (13.1 miles round-trip). 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The schedule, rules and regulations are all available at westchestergov.com.

Katonah Museum of Art has two galleries, plus an art room that’s always open for children to create special projects. Go Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and enter for free, always free for children under 12. 232-9555. katonahmuseum.org.

Neuberger Museum of Art offers free admission for all on the first Saturday of every month and is always free for children 11 and under. 251-6100. neuberger.org.
