Littman Krooks LLC presents Special Education attorney Marion Walsh, Esq., to discuss the common core and diploma options for students with special needs.
Her session “Undertanding the Common Core Curriculm and Helping Your Child Succeed,” will answer essential questions about the Common Core initiative and provide practical tips for helping your child succeed, with a particular focus on students with learning issues and disabilities.
The Common Core Curriculum represents an effort by states and school administrators to ensure that state curricular standards are aligned with the expectations and skills required for post-secondary education and work. The initiative will ultimately improve public education, yet we are in a transitional period. New York implemented the Common Core this past school year and school districts tested students on state assessments aligned to the Common Core for the first time in Spring of 2013.
