• NY MOM’s “Infants, Toddlers, Big Kid bonanza” is rescheduled because of Hurricane Sandy, The event, now held Nov. 18, 2012, is collecting non-perishable food items for families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Bring items on the day of event Nov. 18 12:30-4:40 or drop off at the event location prior to that date. No donations accepted Monday Nov. 12, 2012. Needed: baby food, canned goods, crackers, cookies, coffee, tea, hand sanitizer, peanut butter, toothpaste, toothbrushes, diapers, pasts and rice. • Food Bank for Westchester Food Drive is accepting Post Sandy food drop-offs at the warehouse located at 200 Clearbrook Road, Elmsford. Open anyday until 3 p.m. Please donate non-perisable food that is not in glass containers.
Provide Warmth
• The pajama program, a NYC based nonprofit, is working diligently to get new, warm pajamas to the children affected by Sandy, and they would love your help. • WJCS’ Kid’s Kloset is working to get warm clothes to children in need. Donate new or gently used clothing or your time to help organize the effort. To deliver donations of larger than two to three bags, please contact 338-8586 to make arrangements. Kid’s Kloset recently relocated to temporary space at 4 Gannett Drive, Suite 100 when a fire and flood damaged their building on East Post Road. www.wjcs.com
Provide Pet Assistance
Hurricane Sandy also affected pets and animals. Many pets were displaced from their families. And some families have had to rely on local shelters to help with their care as they try to relocate. Funds are always welcome. Contact shelters to find out more about their immediate needs.
