National Food Day

Westchester celebrated National Food Day at Westchester County Center in White Plains. This family-friendly day, sponsored by Blythedale Children’s Hospital, Kohl’s Cares and Westchester County, included food demonstrations and tastings by celebrity chefs such as Missy Chase Lapine, aka The Sneaky Chef and author of The New York Times best-selling book The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kinds’ Meals. The crowd enjoyed music, movement and exercise for kids, healthy living information and presentations and a farmers’ market.

Light the Night

Westchester Family was proud to attend The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk. The walk raises funds for high-impact cancer research and crucial patients services for those affected by blood cancers. The Society is pleased to announce that survival rates for children with lymphocytic leukemia (the most common childhood cancer) has risen from three to 90 percent since the 1960s. The organization has chapters throughout the United States with its headquarters right here in White Plains.
