There are many ways to appreciate different cultures in Westchester county. This month is all about celebrating, honoring, and appreciating hispanic heritage. From September-October, you’ll find a collection of Hispanic Heritage Month events in Westchester to experience with your kids. National Hispanic Heritage Month also offers a variety of resources and events that you and your kids can explore in other states as well as virtually.

Hispanic Festival in Ossining

Armelle for Kids

Family Art Workshop: Hudson River Molas
Visit the Hudson River Museum and participate in their family-friendly art workshop. Firstly, this includes the use of mola, a form of textile art that forms women’s clothing among thee indigenous people of Panama and Colombia. Secondly, kids will get to create their own mola. Finally, this includes the use of construction paper and glue. Kids will be able to decorate their mola using animals found in the Hudson River Valley. Recommended for ages 4+.
