Baby & Me Fun in Westchester
Playing with baby is such great fun and it’s good for your baby too. Sometimes it’s nice to get out of the house and interact with others. If you have a little one, here’s some baby & me fun in Westchester. These are great ways to get active, let baby see the world and meet some other like-minded parents in Westchester at the same time.
Art
Tig & Peach
This “play, learn, gather, celebrate” space was created by two moms, Amanda Star (Tig) and Emily Donnelly (Peach). The art corner here is always fully stocked! The bright, modern space includes a huge play structure and a giant magnetic wall. In addition, there’s a tool bench, a dress-up space, and a marketplace. After that try the wind tunnel. Everything about this venue spells baby & me fun in Westchester! Open Play costs $30 per child, $20 for siblings and kids under 9 months enter for free. Monthly memberships are available. Tig & Peach is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the weekend afternoons are reserved for birthday parties.

Katonah Museum of Art
The popular Museum Stroller Tours program allows parents to take a tour of the museum with babies in strollers. Once a month, parents with their babies and pre-toddlers are invited to the museum before it opens to the public for a discussion and some fun with art. This is a fun baby & me program in Westchester that brings together art, parenting, and camaraderie. In addition, treats for parents are included. Crying babies are welcome! $10/adult.

Ruth Keeler Memorial Library
We are so fortunate in Westchester that free baby & me fun can be found at most of our public library branches. One such program is Stories and Songs for Babies. This program held at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library in North Salem. Parents are invited to attend with baby (ages birth to 3). It’s a great way to make new friends. Stay and play at the library after stories. Held on Mondays from 10:30–11 am. This is a drop-in program and reservations are not required.

Westchester’s Children’s Museum
Westchester Children’s Museum has several programs that offer baby & me fun. One of our favorites is Museum Minis. Meet up with other families at Toddler Beach for songs, movement, stories and plenty of fun. The program is geared for adults and babies ages 18-24 months. Museum Minis is held on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11 am. The program if free with $7.50 museum admission.

Indoor Exercise
Mommy & Baby Yoga
Staying active is easy with pre/postnatal yoga and Mommy & Baby Yoga classes. Meet other parents while getting or staying in shape. It’s an ideal way to have baby & me fun in Westchester. The class is designed for mother as and newborns, ages 1 month to crawling. The class includes stretching and toning for the new moms as well as breathing techniques and deep relaxation. Make a reservation at the studio. The class fee is $23, one adult with one baby. See schedule for times and days.

Mama and Baby Pilates
This class, designed for mothers with their babies, is a safe method of exercise that increases agility in your everyday movements. You’ll work on your strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on your core, and balance muscle groups for optimum health and fitness. Take a blanket for your baby to class, mats are provided. The class is generally held on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. Confirm days and times with the studio as they are subject to change. The class fee is $23, one adult with one baby. Swim Class
Enrolling in a swim class is another fun option for baby & me fun in Westchester. Make a splash and get your infant or toddler used to the magic of swimming. Parents get in the pool with their child in group-classes where you can meet other water-loving adults.

Nature Strollers
Get outside for some baby & me fun! This is a hiking group for families with babies, toddlers and young children. The one-hour hike follows gentle trails set in the beauty of nature. An ideal way to meet like-minded parents and explore the beauty of nature with baby.

Stroller Strides
This is a stroller fitness program that incorporates power walking with intervals of strength and body toning. It’s a great way to get back in shale and have baby & me fun in Westchester. Classes offered at Kensico Dam in White Plains, Pierson Park and Tarrytown Fitness Center in Tarrytown, and The Westchester Mall. The class is taught by certified fitness instructors. It’s a class designed for fitness but also includes friendship building and tons of fun. Your first class is free!
