Join Luangisa African Museum & Cultural Arts and the Wakanda Celebration for Wakanda 5! Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a plethora of activities centered around Africa such their wearable art African fashion show, cuisine of Africa, live music, kids’ activities and rides. Fall Crafts at Lyndhurst

Enjoy a weekend of fall crafts at Lyndhurst where you can discover unique items from over 200 craftspeople and artisans. This includes original fashions, accessories, and jewelry, ceramics, fine art painting, printmaking, drawing, and photography. The festival also has food trucks and tastings from local distilleries, wineries, and cider houses. The 2nd Annual Toonerville Music Festival features Living Colour, Strand of Oaks, Eliza & The Delusionals, and 12 other great acts performing on two-stages, all to raise money for Pelham Civic Association. Pound Ridge Harvest Festival

Rock out in Pound Ridge at the annual Pound Ridge Harvest Festival. This year’s event is headlined by Grammy-award winning artist, Blues Traveler! The festival will be opened by local artists Badger Scratch and Platinum Moon who won this year’s Battle of the Bands. The festival also includes a Root Beer Garden, rides, inflatables, crafts, games, and prizes. Local restaurants, specialty food purveyors and craft beer garden add to the “Oktoberfest feel” of the event. Yellow Brick Road Fest

Watching the “Wizard of Oz” is one of our favorite movies to watch with our kids. Now, you can watch it with your closest friends in Pound Ridge as a part of the Bedford Playhouse’s “Yellow Brick Road Fest.” Held on Saturday, October 8th at 5pm at the idyllic Maple Grove Farm, this family-friendly Wizard of Oz-themed event includes tons of kids’ activities, signature cocktails, a Wizard of Oz costume content (along with prizes!), popcorn, and a delicious Kansas-style buffet barbecue. Serious Fun Art Festival

Have some serious fun with your family in October at this jam-packed arts and music festival in White Plains. Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival

The 9th Annual Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival kicks off on October 15th with 160 authors in attendance. The fun event includes book signings, readings, illustrator demos, with a percentage of proceeds going to literacy programs throughout Westchester and Metro New York. Food will be also available from food trucks and the Chappaqua Farmers Market. Admission and parking are free and the event is rain or shine. Outdoor Crafts Festival

Held at the Bruce Museum, this popular outdoor festival features the work of artists and craftspeople throughout the country. Here, you can view new works from artists such as handmade crafts, jewelry, wearable fiber, glass, furniture and housewares, pottery, and much more. The event also includes interactive demos and food. Admission for the festival is “pay as you wish,”  with a suggested donation of $10 per adult.
