The Great Skate

The nippy chill in the air means it’s time for winter sports. Skating is a great skill for children to develop as it helps them with balance, coordination and overall physical fitness. It’s also a fun family outing. Try any or all of these rinks for a great skate!

Play Hockey

Open seven days a week, Westchester Skating Academy is a National Hockey League twin rink facility featuring youth and adult hockey leagues. There’s also a Learn to Skate program as well as public skate times and birthday party opportunities. Rental equipment is available.

Disco Skate

Spend Friday evening with your family at Hommocks as the house lights go down and the colored lights come up allowing everyone to skate to the music, coordinated to new cosmic disco lights. You’ll also find a skating school, a youth ice hockey program, birthday party space and many special events.

Skate or Roll

Looking for something just a bit different? Consider speed skating or roller derby, each of these fun sports is available at the E.J. Murray Memorial Rink. And if you want to keep the kids active during the December school break there are morning, afternoon and evening public skate times planned. See website for exact details.

Free Public Skate

Want some free fun in New York City? Head in to see the Christmas decorations at Rockefeller Center and the decorated windows at the large department stores then head on over to the Winter Village at Bryant Park for free ice skating! Skate rentals, lockers and food are available for purchase.
