Out & About (Jun. 2012)

Go the Distance

Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla recently held their annual Go the Distance walk and family fun day. Families and friends gathered to celebrate the good works that MFCH does every day to help provide excellent pediatric care to critically ill children. Many volunteers directly or indirectly benefited from the quality care that MFCH offers. Westchester Family was pleased to participate by inviting Circus Arts Camps to the event, providing giveaways and raffling off a sparkly new bike. www.westchestermedicalcenter.com.

March for Babies

Energized families, companies and dedicated volunteers showed up for March for Babies, the premier fundraising event for the March of Dimes. Thousands of people gathered at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains for the 6-mile walk and related activities that added to the fun and festivities. Westchester Family was proud to attend and participate in the Family Fun Zone. Funds raised support research and other programs to assure babies are born healthy and help those in need survive and thrive. www.marchofdimes.com; www.marchforbabies.org.

WHUD Kids Fair

The day was filled with activities and games, science experiments, sports, theater, educational activities and free giveaways at the recent WHUD Kids Fair held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. Westchester Family was happy to attend. It was wonderful to meet our many readers and raffle off a bike to a very deserving child. All proceeds from the event benefit H.O.P.E. for Youth Foundation and children’s charities in the Hudson Valley.
